      TP-Link Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb LB100

TP-Link have made an entrance into consumer based smart home gadgets. The first of which has been implemented through a series of affordable Smart Wi-Fi LED bulbs. We take a look at TP-Link’s LB100 and LB120.

      LB100

      Design & Installation

TP-Link’s LB100 and LB120 look like a normal LED bulb. However, unlike a regular LED bulb, these can connect to your home Wi-Fi connection. Once connected, you can manage the LED via the Kasa app available on iOS or Android. Similarly, the LB series also work with Amazon Echo, which means verbal controls via the Alexa voice assistant.

The installation process is made extremely easy via Kasa. Once installed, you’ll have the ability to access controls beyond a simple on/off. The Kasa app enables you to toggle the brightness level of the bulb, create lighting schedules and configure mood settings. The app also allows for remote control from outside of your network as long as the LB100 and LB120 remain connected to your home Wi-Fi.

      Final Thoughts

LED smart bulbs aren’t something new with manufacturers including GE, Philips and LIFX to name a few with similar products. That said, TP-Link’s LB100 and LB120 both worked as expected and were a breeze to setup.

The Kasa mobile application and Amazon Echo support makes it worthy of consideration for anyone looking to make the move to smart home devices. The TP-Link LB100 and LB120 are available now from your local TP-Link reseller. Alternatively, hit up the link here to grab one from Amazon.
